There’s so many layers, sheaths, and details here it’s hard to know where to start, but a grey mesh base does indeed provide the bottom layer. The foremost style is then provided by a translucent overlay that covers the whole toebox and midfoot before reaching around to the heel where it’s secured by a tab. The lacing system also pokes through ovals on the quarter, adding an appealingly haphazard mix of tones and textures, all of which are coated in black, burgundy, and varying shades of dark blue/green.
